DescriptionThe Snap-on company was founded in 1920 in the USA with the invention of the interchangeable socket wrench, which today is referred to as a ‘socket set’. Quality and innovation has been the creed and today Snap-on invests USD50 million per annum on research and development for new products. Snap-on is a brand that defines quality and the benchmark for professional tool users. Snap-on is a USD2.8 billion corporation with over 19,000 tools in the range distributed through almost 5,000 franchised mobile stores around the world. Snap-on is also outside this world as Snap-on tools are used by NASA for the space shuttle.

Future Plans
With the latest in tools and equipment available, Snap-on franchisees are a solution provider for their customers. In Australia Snap-on employs over 90 support personnel for the 150+ mobile stores with the franchisees divided into Field Groups. A Field Group comprises of approximately 10 franchisees with a dedicated Sales Development Manager (SDM). SDMs regularly ride with their franchisees to help business development. Each State has a Business Manager to assist franchisees with business planning and business reviews. A Franchise Development Training programme was introduced in 2008 and is being enhanced in 2009 to further assist franchisees.
