Snooze moves up in list of top Australian franchises

It's been a big year for bedding retailer Snooze, progressing in leaps and bounds in 2010. Following its first appearance in the Top 10 in the previous Top Franchise awards in June 2010, Snooze has continued to make big moves by improving four spots and securing sixth position in the latest quarterly results.

The survey, which covers franchisee's satisfaction in their current franchise business and specifically focuses on franchise renewal, recommendation, lifestyle and business support, provides an opportunity for franchisees to express their thoughts on Australian franchise units.

Snooze has again emerged from the survey as the bedding and furniture favourite, as the only business in its industry to make the top 10 in the survey by independent consumer franchise service.

With more than 2,000 Australian franchise owners voting on the best Australian franchises, the result was testament to Snooze's implementation of a strong mentoring and franchise support system over the past 12 months.

Snooze has also seen a marked increase of multi-site franchise owners with an additional five existing Snooze franchise owners extending their reach by purchasing additional Snooze sites.

Over the past 12 months, Snooze has opened five new sites, franchised seven of its company-owned stores and re-sold five existing franchise stores, to meet the demand for new franchises.

Snooze Managing Director, Simon Beaty believes Snooze's continued success and its proven internal strength stems from various elements, but ultimately from a real focus on the success of its franchise partners.

"It is an exciting time in the long franchise journey of Snooze. We have a fantastic combination of experienced long standing franchise partners and new blood joining us. It's a glowing endorsement that we have the franchise model right when our National Operations Manager so believes in the fantastic Snooze potential and decides to buy his own franchise!"

Snooze has recently welcomed new product manager Troy Grzeschka to the Snooze team - a young and passionate bedding and mattress expert who previously held a similar position with Forty Winks. Garry Webb has filled the role of National Operations Manager, after his predecessor moving on to purchase his own franchise store. Garry brings with him a wealth of franchise experience and strength in managing teams for success.

Snooze's continued growth has seen its total number of stores reach 73, with three new stores in Kotara, Chadstone and Alexandra recently opening. The network spans New South Wales, Victoria, Australian Capital Territory, South Australia and Western Australia and is a leading player in the bedding field, stocking exclusive products, new technologies and innovative designs.
